) This also is a strong position for the Moon, but depends almost en- ) tirely for its character upon the Sun’s position. Body moderately tall, long back, upright carriage, fearless demeanour, bold and free, but not elastic movements. Eyes large and well opened, air enthusiastic and convincing, manners agreeable and entertaining. This is a good example of the blend of the fiery and the fixed tendencies ; there seems a great flexibility and adaptability in these natives, for they are impulsive and enthusiastic where their projects are concerned, but this will be found to be an appearance only: for they are almost entirely self-motived and are very difficult to move either by persuasion or argument, being in reality surprisingly stubborn except where their own enthusiasms are concerned. But they are admirable workers, and when allowed to go their own way manage things excellently, putting their heart into ail they do and doing everything in a way that can only be described by the word ‘thorough.’ ‘They are impulsive, but their impulses come from within, and are not the result of contact from without (as in the case of Aries for instance).

Ft Short, dark, and thin; independent, ingenious but very eccentric. HI There is often genius for music with this position. In any case there is some journalistic ability, with a taste for science and antiquarianism or out-of-theway investigations and research. A hunter-up of obscure details and statistics.

h Tall, slight person; dark hair and dark swarthy appearance; in- h clined to study and reading, particularly news of a melancholy nature. He is of a quiet moody disposition, given to fits of depression. ‘This position is more favourable for Saturn than for Virgo; but there is much ability for painstaking work where the rest of the nativity shows a refined nature.

careful with money, ambitious of honour and position. Only moderately successful and rarely marries. ‘This is a somewhat unfavourable position for Jupiter.

d When fully developed, of medium height, proportionately made, ¢ rather dark or swarthy complexion, brown hair. One that requires to be treated courteously, easily offended and somewhat resentful. Disposition anything but affable, but energetic and capable, a busy worker and a most useful servant when judiciously managed. A somewhat psychic type of mind, but very intellectually disposed.

A large, but well-proportioned person, i.e., when fully developed; © the hair dark brown and plentiful, the complexion moderately good. ‘The disposition on the whole also good ; very ingenious, agreeable, and pleasant in company, not very ambitious, but rather severe with those who offend him. Very careful of own interests and rather apt to develop selfishness as life advances.

@ Moderately tall, well composed, with an indifferent complexion, ? dark brown hair, and dark eyes, In disposition subtle, cunning, careful of own interests, artistic, very ingenious and active ; personally very fastidious in tastes, and dainty, and apt to look down on others less refined and to misinterpret their actions.

®% A tall and slender person, well-made, hair and complexion dark. § His disposition is ambitious, scientific, quick intellect ; the organ of language well developed, consequently his tongue can always find something to talk about ; it has one great advantage over many, viz., it is seldom out of employment, and if Mercury is well aspected at the time of birth it will find a good deal of very useful and beneficial work to do. ‘This position increases the. talkativeness of Virgo but somewhat lessens its tendency to prudishness or fault-finding and the native is less priggish.

) The Moon is well placed in Virgo. These people have a medium jp stature, very neat appearance, colour of hair, eyes, etc., usually tending to a general drown tinge, the skin being as a rule yellowish-brown, with a good colour. Small features, well made, but delicate; good eyes but wistful rather than inspiring in expression: the body movements are Mercurial. Very neat in dress, economical withal, generally cover up the neck (distinction from Sagittarius and Jupiter, which always leave it bare). Quiet and demure—‘ mouselike’—in manner, trim and orderly in methods, rather prim and always very precise in ideas. Are keen to notice differences, and are rather hard on ‘ evildoers.’

Hi Strong, well-made person, light brown hair, fair sanguine com- Hi plexion, quick at learning, fond of science ; hot tempered and independent.

Usually unfortunate in marriage, owing to peculiar notions or extreme independence. But the eccentricity of Uranus is rendered more moderate and adaptable here than in perhaps any of the signs.

h Saturn, when rising in the ascendant in Libra, represents a person hh above the average height, well and uniformly made, with a good complexion, high forehead, medium brown hair; very independent and somewhat cold and reserved. Saturn is exalted in this sign and exhibits some of his best characteristics, love of justice and devotion to duty, when the character as indicated by the horoscope as a whole is good.

Disposition good, loving, kind, pleasant, and obliging. A large circle of friends and admirers, particularly those of the opposite sex. ‘This is perhaps one of the best positions for Jupiter for worldly success and popularity. But consider his aspects.

g Rather tall in stature, well composed, fair and sanguine complexion, ¢ oval visage, and light brown hair; cheerful and pleasant expression of countenance. Delights to be in the company of the opposite sex, very approbative and uxorious. Often proves a promoter of disunion and yet rarely a positively quarrelsome or disagreeable person, so that this quality appears more as a misfortune than as a fault.
