% This sign is one of the houses of Jupiter, and the effects produced Y by the great benefic when placed in this sign are better than if placed in any other. Represents a person of moderately tall stature, oval visage, medium brown hair, ruddy complexion ; well-formed head, organs of which are evenly developed. Possessing a good, honest, truthful, loving disposition ; a true and sincere friend, just in all dealings, and very fortunate in his passage through life. There is usually a strong leaning to the church or towards military life. Fond of sport and a great lover of horses.

gd Apperson of rather tall stature, well proportioned, good complexion, ¢ dark brown hair, and dark eyes. A regular merry, jolly sort of a person, very fond of company, rather passionate, delights in military operations, railway enterprise, etc. Fond of travel, sport and new ideas. Apt to be superficial in thought and to profess knowledge rather than to possess it. Capable of ‘drawing a bow at a venture’ with telling effect.

@ Rather above the average height, well and proportionately built, 9 light hair, oval visage, grey or hazel eyes. The disposition is good. A pleasant person, possessing agreeable and obliging manners; noble and brave; rather proud; passionate, but is soon appeased. Venus has great sympathy with Sagittarius, as has Jupiter similarly with Libra.

% A tall person, well composed, rather long visage, large nose, san- § guine complexion, and dark hair. A very active, busy-bodyish kind of person, loquacious and frequently shallow-minded, sharp and intelligent in small matters, rather conceited and vain of his abilities and eager to display his talents.

) ‘This is a somewhat favourable position for the Moon, and its better ) qualities are usually manifested. Appearance, tall, slight (sometimes bulky and fleshy, but only when other influences in the horoscope strongly indicate this), lithe and active, strong muscles, or rather abundant nervous force to stimulate them into action, quick in movement, light and graceful in bearing and free and pleasant in speech. Large well-opened eyes, somewhat dreamy and _ psychic looking nevertheless, long slender neck. Particular as to clothes as a rule, given to a certain fastidiousness regarding linen, and fond of wearing brown leather boots, and gaiters or spats; in fact, there is, in general, a slight tendency to ‘horsiness’ of appearance, not necessarily of an unrefined type. General bearing ‘smart’ and ‘well groomed.’ Quick in ideas, ready and fluent in speech though sometimes diffident, they are entertaining comrades and good fellow-travellers. ttt Capricorn is by some held to be the house of Neptune, but it is *! doubtful if at the present stage of humanity this sign offers great facilities for

the expression of its influence, being too hard and dry in its nature. ‘The appearance is dark and magnetic, hair smoother and finer than usual in this sign, skin dusky, eyes usually of a curious dark blue or bluey grey. ‘Temperament idealistic, full of plans for political or economic progress, or, in the less advanced types, selfish, crafty, and relentless in carrying out predetermined ambitions. In low types, sottish and slavish, given to drink and low company, but with some genius in certain directions, guileful, readily planning and cleverly executing schemes of great ingenuity.

Hi About middle height, evenly made, high forehead, short, thin neck, HI light hair, and small steely eyes. In disposition self-opinionated, haughty, ostentatious, possessing a very exalted opinion of himself. This must be judged according to the other positions in the horoscope, aspects, etc., for there is the possibility of a very lofty type of mind and character here,

h Athin, slender person of about middle height, with a long visage, hh dark sallow complexion, dark hair, and small eyes; disposition reserved, cold and indifferent, an individual of but little conversation, and when once offended not easily appeased. Very melancholy in manner, and with little self-esteem or faculty of ‘hope,’ but very ambitious and persistent when once decided on a course of action. Diplomatic in the extreme, and capable of political work if in an otherwise good. horoscope.

% This sign being Saturnine is not by any means a comfortable 7 vehicle for the expression of Jupiter, who shows himself to much better advantage in Aquarius. ‘The stature is moderate, carriage fairly independent, manner somewhat truculent but good natured, air grand and somewhat disdainful or condescending. Successful in public matters and capable in_ organisation. Rather rebellious against authority and desirous of being chief.

d Small, thin structure, small head, black or dark hair, and dark pale ¢ complexion. Disposition moderately good, quick, active and ingenious mind, usually fortunate in undertakings. Very ambitious and capable, a_ useful worker in engineering or organising departments, but a rather questionable person to select as a subordinate, for he is apt to turn master, and will certainly scheme towards that end.

© Under this influence we generally find a person ‘of small stature, ©) or below the medium height, pale complexion, thin and ill-proportioned, medium brown hair, long visage. Disposition determined, resolute, undaunted ; possesses a ae amount of morality, benevolence, etc., and is fond of eR society, Persistent ambition and political ability are marked features of this position.

Very ambitious of place and _preferment, desirous of achieving lasting distinction, but unwilling to use strenuous means, and preferring subtlety to open contest. ‘There are great possibilities in this position, only too seldom realised. In lower types, a person who speaks very highly of himself and what he does, which is not much worth talking about ; he is fond of drink and many of the great evils connected therewith, and not very fortunate in his transactions.

% Indicates a little, lean, thin-faced individual, dull and obscure & complexion, brown hair. Of a nervous, irritable, peevish nature, and one that is not very fortunate. There is great ability for diplomacy, if well aspected,

and in any case much subtlety of mind ; the mental outlook is often narrow, however.

) This is not a favourable position, except where the individuality is J) very strong. Otherwise the native is apt to become ‘cranky,’ small-natured, narrow-minded and mean, though the position of Saturn in Leo or Sagittarius would lessen this tendency. ‘The figure is usually somewhat small and cramped, the face long and thin, peaky-looking, the nose somewhat Jewish in type, the skin sallow and unhealthy looking or parchment-like ; the corpse-like complexion to which this lunar position inclines is especially marked in ill-health and old age, giving a ‘leaden’ (h rules lead) tinge to the skin. The native is both cautious and subtle, very watchful of self-interests or, in the higher types, the interests of the community. ‘The eyes are dull and patient, capable of a steady fire when settling down to work in the face of difficulties, for the energy and enthusiasm of Capricorn rise in direct proportion to the disappointments or rebuffs encountered. ‘This is a fine position for those who can make a good use of it, but they have first to overcome the timidity and to learn to understand their own natures. The heads of the great Jewish banking houses furnish admirable instances of the favourable expression of the Capricorn qualities, but with this position they are usually only displayed in a very feeble and puny way, though the instinct towards them can be clearly discerned.
