生处绝者，如年纳音是金见时上丁巳，纳音是土。金长生在巳，土绝在巳是也。绝中生者，如年纳音是木见时上甲申水，木绝在申，水却生在申也。一云：生处绝者。如男主木星躔在亥，是长生也。值丙寅年，纳音绝。地在亥，是生处绝也。绝中生者，如木星填在申，是绝也。值壬辰年，纳音长生在申，是绝中生也。前说以时籍言。后说以宫主言。二说俱通，当并详之。
