The aspects, good or ill, of Uranus to Neptune are so comprehensive in their nature as to affect rather the life as a whole (unless, indeed, the influence remain latent) than any one department in such a way as could be particularly indicated. :

SATURN denotes gain by labour; method; responsibility; land; building; farming; heavy trading, such as contracts or time periods; minerals ; carrying in transit ; removals; storage ; shipping of merchandise; public appointments; investments, stocks, shares, companies (chiefly when in good aspect to Jupiter or Venus).

Saturn in good aspect to Uranus indicates gain in connection with antiquities, archeological research, museum work, and all out-of-the-way investigations where much application is required; dealing in antique furniture or curios; also in connection with societies. Saturn in affliction with Uranus: sudden and unexpected losses in connection with societies, companies, stocks and shares, etc.

‘ JupirEer relates to religious affairs; Government offices; managements; legal affairs; trusts; banking; churches; charity and charitable institutions ; to some extent, also, to the higher forms of education

and cultivation, such as philosophy, professorships in science, literature, or religion, etc. ; it also has a bearing upon voyages and shipping.

Jupiter in good aspect with Saturn or Uranus is favourable for monetary prospects, and gives good fortune and success in life if the luminaries are not afflicted at birth. Jupiter in affliction with Saturn produces many monetary difficulties and sometimes much poverty.

Mars denotes gain through strength and force; engineering; mechanics; cattle-dealing; breeding; stock farming; timber, coal, slate, iron; steel; drugs; chemicals; mining; sanitation; hygiene; surgery; soldiers, and, to some extent, sailors ; if well aspected it somewhat favours money by legacy or marriage. If favourably placed it may enable the native to earn money easily, but it will also incline him to spend freely.

Mars in affliction with Jupiter denotes loss through extravagance, over-liberality, waste, and often prodigality. Mars in affliction with Saturn: great poverty and difficulty in acquiring wealth. Mars in affliction with Uranus: peculiar and sudden losses. Mars well aspected is favourable for money matters, as it increases the personal acquisitive tendencies.

THE Sun indicates money derived from the father or his side of the family, from superiors, and from the holding of responsible positions or official appointments, also through social influence. Its occupations are mainly those indicated by the sign in which it is placed. Like Mars, it may give money through the native’s own labour, but it also parts with money easily.

Venus denotes gain through social condition ; friendships ; society ; marriage; pleasures; amusements; finery; domestic affairs ; jewellery ; adornments; upholstery; millinery; hosiery; wearing apparel; hotels; restaurants. Its good aspects to Saturn are fortunate for the accumulation of money, for money invested, and for banking.

Venus in good aspect to the Moon denotes gain through social intercourse, and public gatherings and the general public. In good aspect to Jupiter : profitable dealings with friends and influential persons, also gain through travel and foreign affairs. In good aspect with Uranus: gain through peculiar and exceptional circumstances, strangers and acquaintances.

Venus in affliction with Mars denotes waste, impulsive, over-liberal tendencies, and losses through carelessness and extravagance generally.

Venus in affliction with Saturn: fear of poverty, losses which the native has no power to prevent, wasting of substance, and monetary difficulties. In affliction with Uranus: sudden and very unexpected financial losses.

Mercury denotes gain by writing, speaking, travelling, clerks, agencies, commissions, discounts, dividends, interest, and paper money generally.

It is good for success in all commercial undertakings; scientific pursuits ; trading; publishing; advertising; distributing; and circulating ; also occupations in which special skill or training is required ; examinations, teaching. It relates to brothers, sisters, cousins, and to some extent servants.

Mercury in good aspect to the Moon denotes gain through the general public, learning and quick perception, ability and capacity. It brings opportunity, and the necessary application to take advantage. of circumstances. Mercury in good aspect to Venus: gain through refinement and good taste. In good aspect to Mars: gain through industry, skillandingenuity. In goodaspect to Jupiter: through sound judgment, intuition, and moral principle. In good aspect with Saturn: gain through tact and diplomacy, caution and perseverance, and the power of profound thought. In good aspect with Uranus: through inventiveness, originality and speculation, or unusual enterprise.

Tue Moon indicates money derived from the mother or her side of the family, from females, or from inferiors through the employment of labour. It indicates subordinate positions, the employee rather than the employer, unless it is elevated or rules the mid-heaven; and it has a general signification of occupations that are connected with the water or liquids, with the masses and the general public rather than with superiors or the few. It gives more thrift and prudence in money matters than does the Sun. If elevated, angular, or well aspected, it may signify factories or businesses where many hands are employed.

It is held by many that the ‘Part of Fortune’ indicates inherited wealth, property accruing, or worldly fortune in a general sense. This point is found as follows :—Add the longitude of the Ascendant to that of the Moon and subtract that of the Sun, adding the circle of 360° if necessary: the operation is best performed by expressing the longitude

in signs, degrees and minutes. For instance: Suppose © 18° 4’, DVS 26° 4’, Asc. U20°29/; then say

{t is advisable here to reflect upon the metaphysical significance of this so-called ‘imaginary’ point: the old rule is worded ‘As the ) is to the © so is the ® to the ascendant.’ That is, the Part of Fortune stands in the same relationship to the ascendant as the Moon does to the Sun. Now we have already seen that the Moon supplies the vehicle for an expression of the Solar life: similarly, then, we should regard the ‘Pars Fortune’ as indicating the ~abulum for the sustenance of that general synthesis of the personal life controlled by the ascendant. Hence the reason for allotting to the Part of Fortune chief control of the pecuniary well-being of the native is readily seen. This point of the horoscope is a matter greatly neglected by many modern writers, which is regrettable.

To recapitulate:—When a judgment upon the financial prospect indicated by any nativity is desired, a careful study must be made of the second house in allits bearings. First; any planet posited therein and the aspects it receives, also the nature of the planets whence the aspects are derived, and their position in the nativity. Secondly; the sign on the cusp of the second, its ruler, position and aspects. Thirdly; since finance is not concerned onv/y with the second house, the positions and mutual aspects of the Sun and Moon, as indicators of the individual and personal fate respectively, must be considered—also those of Jupiter and Venus, natural significators of good fortune.

Moreover, the signs of the zodiac have also some influence over finance. The Cardinal Signs give money through fame and public recognition, also through enterprise and adventure. The Fixed Signs bring gain through government or authoritative influence, and the Common Signs through service and ordinary means. Shoulda horoscope show the majority of planets in one of these groups, more especially if the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant be also included, particularly the latter, the fortunes will show out the prevailing influence.
