32. In Eleventh House.—Gain through friends ; strong desires and aspirations; rises in life. makes progress through refinement, and achieves ambition.

33. In Twelfth House.—Unfortunate position ; liable to self-undoing; fond of occultism or spiritualism; lacks opportunities; liable to false accusations. Rises out of sorrows according to merit.

34. ‘$.—Mediumistic and psychic, prone to strange experiences and remarkable episodes. If given to depravity, becomes a hopeless moral wreck. When developed, is highly receptive to higher forces.

35. HI.—A unique character, original, inventive, and unconventional. Inclines to romance or towards eccentricity and peculiar behaviour. The undeveloped are abrupt and too independent, the developed are profound occult students.

36. h.—Not a fortunate position; is against worldly prosperity, unless very persevering. Denotes obstacles to be overcome, stimulates industry, reserve, prudence and economy. Native often stands in his own light by the exercise of too much caution or fear. Much depends on aspects and sign. (The best signs for this position are = and ?f.)

37. %.— Brings good luck, mainly through a generous disposition that is always buoyant, hopeful and aspiring, promises social success, always acts_as_a preserving influence. The most _benefic position, |

38 &.—Increases ‘vim’ and confidence, gives also courage, energy and impulse. Makes the native consequential and inclined to resort to force, with either combative or destructive tendencies.

39. ©.—Fortunate position; brings dignity and honour, commands respect and good feeling, produces responsible position, gives authority, favours worldly affairs and moral growth. Improves disposition, by enlarging the outlook.

40. @.-—Favourable position, improves disposition, making it agreeable and cheerful. Gain in life through good fortune, assisted by others. Ability for music, singing or fine arts. Refines nature, gives love of the beautiful, with a tendency to seek pleasure or very refined employment. <A most successful position.

41. %.—Increases mentality and adaptability ; encourages diplomatic tendencies; increases activity and quickness of thought; gives literary ability according to aspects, but denotes fluctuating fortune, sometimes high up and at other times low down.

42. ) Disposition mutable, fond of change and novelty; much receptivity; gives popularity, power to sense requirments; love of travel; imcreases sensitiveness and impressionability. Much depends upon aspects.

In all delineations tHE Sun should be treated as the Individuality and considered as the background of the character, characterising the

mora! nature and the motive power at the back of manifestation. The following are the characteristics.

43. %.——Enthusiastic, independent, impulsive, energetic, aspiring, idealistic, prophetic, perceptive, loyal, heroic, aspiring and approbative.

44. %.—Determined, persistent, patient, enduring, practical, conservative, dogmatic or obstinate. Generous or warm-hearted ; reserved, but sympathetic, character exceedingly strong, being dignified, cautious and careful.

45. U.—Mentally impulsive, intellectual, literary, ambitious. Restless, nervous, volatile, indecisive, mentally active.

46. 95.—Reserved, economical, tenacious, sensitive, given to extremes. Strong incaste. Reverence for ancient customs and ancestry. Fond of pewer and somewhat paradoxical, being persistent, although retiring.

47. $St.—Strong willed, generous, earnest, sincere, ambitious; proud, or dignified; fond of organising; love of nature; capable of great things.

48. .—Practical, philosophical, constructive, discriminative critical, self-protective, diplomatic, ingenious; fond of business and generally adaptable.

49. ==.—Perceptive ability, good powers of comparison, intellectual ; love of justice; conscious of trust and confidence, fond of approbation; keen insight ; best when associating with others.

50. M.—Very determined ; strong magnetic power; critical perception, ability to judge; failure through exacting, jealous and proud tendencies. Inclined to be sharp and sarcastic; not over sympathetic. Tenacious and secretive, much self-control; succeeds in government office; much silent force within. A strong and powerful character. When developed, many admirable qualities; but in the undeveloped many vices are exhibited.

51. f.—Reliant, prophetic, candid, outspoken, devoted and affectionate; frank, generous, loyal, philosophical; possessed of either a religious or intuitive spirit.

52. V§.—Ambitious, persistent, industrious, persevering, independent, determined; thrifty, prudent, enduring, capable of responsibility

trustworthy and reliable. Strong characters are patient and enduring, while the weak are servile, cringing, and bound by custom.

53. *.— Faithful, kind, humane, honest and intuitive; equable, dispassionate, constant in affection. Good judges of character; quiet, unobtrusive, and capable of making high attainments.

54. %.—Sympathetic, emotional, lacking in ambition, mediumistic, sociable, hospitable; when developed very honest and trustful, but in the undeveloped there is much weakness.

Tue Sun In THE TweLve Houses need not be specified; for it is only necessary to remember that the Sun quickens and stimulates everything in connection with the house in which it is placed, in other words, it illuminates all the dark places of that house, and brings out all the characteristics denoted by it, usually being fortunate in connection with | the house in which it is placed ; that is if free from serious afflictions.

The Sun’s aspects, however, are very important. Much information concerning the Sun has been given in the first part of this work (Ch. V). The first major aspect formed by the Sun is always very important, since the planet aspected by the Sun is revivified, as it were, and made more potent in the nativity. The following are the general aspects formed by the Sun: they are grouped under three heads, ADVERSE ASPECTS, BENEFIC ASPECTS, and ConjuNcTIoNs, signified by three letters, A, B, GC, an arrangement which will be adhered to throughout the remainder of the chapter.

55. © * A.—Gives a liability to treachery, deceit and grievous disappointments.

56. © *t B.—Gives often extraordinary good fortune; a peculiar temperament with a love of mysticism and the possibility of much expansion of consciousness.

57. © % C—Gives a strange individuality; if developed, clairvoyance or clairaudience or some psychic ability; but in the undeveloped, it tends to produce sexual depravity.

68. © H 4.—Is unfortunate and often very disastrous. Produces estrangements, unforeseen and unexpected events; many changes; often crashes of a severe character. Nearly always produces unpopularity or notoriety at some period of the life.

59. © H B.—Denotes some genius or originality. It makes the

individual character self-reliant and resourceful, very independent and U

broadminded, with philosophical or unconventional tendencies. It favours popularity.

60. @ H C.—Denotes a unique character, with a powerful will, great constructive ability, much originality, and a commanding individuality.

61. © h A.—Weakens the constitution, brings many limitations and disappointments. Health suffers through imperfect circulation, and if the moral character is not very strong, some mischievous traits of character are developed, such as selfishness, jealousy, and enmity.

62. © h &.—Denotes success in life through a patient, persevering and honest character. Shows success in responsible posts, also through aged persons, and is a very steadying influence, which is felt more towards the latter part of the life than at the beginning. j
