The sixth house is especially related to a business or profession followed through pressure of necessity, or force of circumstances, rather than from choice or direct ambition.A Nativity with the majority of the planets in:Frery signs gives ingenuity and energy, and fits the native to study mechanics and to follow any trade or profession in which fire is a necessary element in the production of the goods handled, sold, or worked with.Arry signs denote skill in some literary occupation, scientific pursuits or any profession wherein the mind and brain are more exercised than the body. It would make the native a lawyer, writer, mathematician, draughtsman, designer, artist, clerk, reporter, teacher, novelist, poet, etc.Warery signs favour all employments in which liquid is used, from mineral waters to wines and spirits, or from washing clothes to sailing yachts. Also emotional acting, elocution, etc.

C. are sure to produce effects worthy of envy, (if any thing can justify that passion.)Planets in the fourth house, although angular, are by no means so powerful as in any of the other angles ; and although they foreshow an eminent name, late in life, it is by no means durable, but liable to strange interruptions ; while they who have the fortunate planets, especially 1/ or $ in the tenth house, have a durable celebrity. The cause for this may be probably owing to the natural strength of the mid-heaven, since every thing in the creation, seems to point to the zenith ; and indeed were it not for the fructifying and genial beams of the Sun, in his diurnal approach to that part of the heavens, not only would all vegetation be annihilated, but all the earth would become barren, bleak, and desolate. The mid-heaven is therefore justly accounted by Astrologers, the most powerful angle in the whole celestial circle of the heavenly houses.The general significator of marriage, or that which is common to both sexes, is the seventh house, or west angle. Invariably the student will observe that when Tj J or Ip is therein, a discordance in marriage will occur. If they are afflicted, a fatal and unhappy union takes place, ending in misery or hate, or mutual dislike ; if they are assisted by a fortunate aspect of or £ , the marriage, though not prosperous, may not be unhappy ; but the native will bury his or her, wedded partner. As unhappiness in marriage is thus caused, so happiness therein, is the result of If. or $ being found unafflicted in the seventh house.The particular significators of wedlock are different; thus the Moon is the particular significator of marriage to the man, so far as the marriage contract is concerned ; and to marry fortunate, the D should be (in the man’s horoscope) assisted by the good aspects of 3/ or $ . To marry happy, the D in A to the © may suffice ; but that would not ensure good fortune.If the j) is in d semiquartile, □ sesquiquadrate, g or parallel of Tj $ or ]$[, the native is unfortunate in his choice ; if the D be in semiquartile, □ sesquiquadrate or g to 1/ Q or $ , he is by no means fortunate therein ; if in d , parallel, semisextile quintile, A or bi-quintile to 7/ or $ , the native will be eminently fortunate therein, provided the seventh house is not afflicted by the presence of evil stars. The planet either posited in the seventh house, or to whom the D applies by aspect, will describe the person of the wife, and her conditions.

Of the two pairs of cadent houses the sixth is the house of voluntary service which we perform as our share of the world's work for an equivalent share in the world's wealth, and the twelfth house shows how we may be compelled to labor without remuneration under prison restraint if we do not work willingly. The sixth house shows also the state of our health and the twelfth tells if hospital treatment is necessary.The other pair of cadent houses, the third and ninth, show whether our life and work will confine us to one place or require travel and changes of residence. In this respect the third house shows short journeys and the ninth house long travels.The personal houses comprise the first, fifth andninth. The first house rules the constitution and peculiarities of the physical body. Planets and signs in that house put their stamp on it to make or mar according to the part of its self-generated destiny. Our fifth house shows the quality of the love-nature of the soul and the line of its expression if it follows the line of least resistance ; and the ninth house shows as much of the spirit as we can apprehend in our present limited stateThe material trinity of houses consists of the second, sixth and tenth and shows the worldly possessions of man, his means of obtaining them and the enjoyment they bring him. Wealth, or its reverse, is shown by the second house, health, without which there can be no joy in any worldly possession, is shown by the sixth house ; and the public prestige which is the chief source of gratification to the average human being, is shown by the tenth house.
