第十一宫

The eleventh house is concerned with friends, acquaintances, hopes and aspirations, and is usually a fortunate house. Planets in or ruling this house are largely concerned with the zdeals.232. ‘i.—Weird and queer friendships, usually of an unhealthy character: liable to be imposed upon by friends.233. Hi.—Unique and exceptional friendships; usually of a bohemian and remarkable character. Gain in a sudden and unexpected manner through friends. As an instance of this may be mentioned the following case: A lady friend of the author’s, who was a nurse in the Franco-Prussian War, had attended a dying officer, who before his death gave her certain information which enabled her to realise a fortune in connection with some mining shares.

XXXIX. Affliction of the eleventh house, in the creation of a king, indicates damage in his household ‘and his ttea- ‘sury: affliction of the second house denotes the detriment of his subjects’ wealth.XL. When the ascenddnt is oppressed by the malefics, the native will delight in sordid things, and approve illflavoured odours.XLI. Beware the affliction of the eighth house ahd its| lord, at a time of departure; and that of the second houseXLIT. Should a disease begin when the Moon may be in a sign occupied at the birth by some malefic, or in quartile or opposition to any such sign, such disease will be most severe; and if the malefic also behold the said sign,. © it will be dangerous. On the other hand, there will be no danger if the Moon be in a place held at the time of birth by some benefic.

Pursuing thesame tract, in the next column headed ^ 'we find 11 deg.12 min., and by looking up the column $ , will be found lower down (or succeeding) s, which shows us that 11 deg. 12 min. of & t0 be placed on the cusp of the Ascendant or first house. Next, the student will perceive 28 deg. of $ in the column headed 2, or the second house ; and lastly, on the third house, he will observe 21 deg. of v jp, in the column headed 3, which are found on the cusp of the third house. These are the whole of the six oriental houses ; and in order to find the signs and degrees on the cusps of the opposite, or occidental houses, the student must again refer to the foregoing pages, where they are set down : thus he will find, that the fourth house bein^opposite to the tenth, and ^ opposite to r , there must consequently be 22 deg. of di placed on the cusp of the fourth house. Likewise the fifth house being opposite to the eleventh, and f opposed to n, there must be placed 2 deg. of f on the cusp of the fifth house. Again, the twelfth house is the opposite to the sixth, and Yf is opposite to 25, consequently 10 deg. of Vj> must occupy the cusp of the sixth house. Also the opposite house to the ascendant or first, is the seventh house, and ss is opposed to $ , therefore 1 1 deg. 12 min. of ss must descend with the cusp of the seventh house. The social houses are the third, seventh and eleventh houses and in them are shown the nature of our relations with various classes of souls we meet in life. Brothers and sisters to whom we are bound by the tie of blood are shown by the third house, the companion of our heart with whom our blood blends in another way, is shown by the seventh house, and the friends, more precious than pearls to whoever has earned friendship, are designated by the eleventh house.
